Let's start with the passion I have for technology through TIIDELab Are you surprised? I had no interest in technology before but I am always interested in solving technical issues. Seeing updates makes me get closer to solving more problems, moving on to when I applied for TIIDELab FELLOWSHIP COHORT 5, luckily I got admitted and the journey sharpens me to change my mind to be a technical writer... oya let me share my journey with you.
Before I started this journey I had no idea where my life was heading because there was no job, and sleeping and waking up was my priority, I asked myself series of questions about where I will meet myself in the next 2 years. moving on to when I applied for TIIDELab Fellowship cohort 5 through a rigorous step. luckily I was admitted among 7,650 other candidates that applied.
When i saw the congratulatory message i was so excited because i did not believe that i could secure a spot, The mix of excitement and gratitude I felt was indescribable, and my journey into the world of tech took on a whole new state. I participated in the TIIDELab Fellowship Program, embarking on an exciting journey in the tech space. From the moment we were onboarded and began attending lectures, to facing unexpected challenges and forming valuable connections, this experience has been nothing short of transformative.
INTRODUCTION: INDUCTION DAY
The program set sail on the 27th of July, 2023, marked by a momentous Onboarding ceremony. On this day we were provided with an in-depth orientation, setting the stage for our learning process. We were introduced to the Tiidelab’s mission and the comprehensive curriculum designed to cater to us with diverse level of experties. Mr Kadir Salami, our Founder, who set the stage on fire with his kind words with a sound of inspirational speech, preparing us for this transformative journey. The roadmap for our forthcoming six-month was also unveiled. After couples of weeks into the program we were grouped into 6 teams and I found myself in team 4 (INNOVATION SQUAD) the best of all teams.
for the past 4 weeks of the program, I was introduced to numerous new concepts and technologies. Each week brought forth a wealth of information, expanding my knowledge and understanding of the tech industry. From data structure to advanced Html and Css, UI/UX product designs. I eagerly absorbed these new insights, eager to apply them to practical tasks. In addition to the lectures, we were assigned tasks and projects that tested our understanding and problem-solving skills. These hands-on activities allowed us to apply the concepts we learned, fostering a deeper comprehension of the subject matter. Collaborating with fellow participants on these assignments was both challenging and rewarding, as we worked together to meet deadlines and overcome obstacles. As a beginner in the tech space, meeting the various deadlines proved to be highly challenging. However, this experience taught me the importance of effective time management and the value of teamwork. Collaborating with other participants not only enhanced my technical skills but also fostered an environment of support and shared learning. Together, we navigated through the program, offering assistance and motivation to one another.
However, our daily routines are CCAT, standups, materials/live class, coding partner session, peer learning, presentations and feedbacks.
Fast forward to our first physical meet-up, I hope you are not tired reading my story so far? don't be tired now...
Every two Fridays there is always a physical meet up for soft skill lectures by Mr Aderoju Shamshudeen (that's my amiable instructor), Head of house games, breakfast and lunch( I love food ) I am always eager to go for physical meet ups.
This is a picture of my team wager task, we were grouped In different teams that day and I was in team ONE. My team took the first runner up,amazing right? it was an amzaing experience and i loved every step we took to achieve this. Faces of my team members.
less I forget, i was so lucky to meet the founder of TIIDELab MR KADIR SALAMI as he nailed on how we should overcome "imposter syndrome" he shared his experience on how he battled with imposter syndrome and the way he overcame it till date. His words of encouragement will always stick in my head forever.
Battling with different deadlines of assignments and tasks. We were asked to build our portfolio website using tailwind css to style it , I had no idea on tailwind before I was used to vanilla css it was a stressful one thinking on how I would fix it within couple of days but I am so proud of my other members and my teammates we worked hand in hand to make it a successful website even though we don’t have previous knowledge on tailwind css. I was able to build my portfolio website and this is the link below…grab your popcorn when you are about to view my portfolio because you will love it.
